Austyn Taylor (b. 1984, USA) is a New York-born sculptor pursuing a nomadic lifestyle. After receiving her Ceramics MFA at Alfred University in 2016, she has been travelling the world and working as a resident artist. She has given lectures on sculptures and art history at institutions, such as University of California, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Art Institute. Currently, she is based in Mendocino as a resident at the Mendocino Art Centre.

Taylor’s sculptures are inspired by hand-drawn illustrations, as well as ancient and contemporary sculptures to create works of ‘folk-pop’. Her works evoke a sense of absurdist humour and cognitive dissonance that comes from the alienating experience of existence.
