The New Feminine celebrates the wonders of art birthed from girl power. It sees a myriad of artistic expressions manifested from diverse experiences - from women’s soft silhouettes to a radiant spectrum of pigments, the seven brilliant artists have come together to showcase their talents and give us a taste of the new feminine.

    SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

    Momo Kim is an artist born and raised in Seoul. After living inNewYork and Nha Trang, she moved back to Seoul to continue to her journey. Her art seeks to blur the boundaries between decorative art and modernism in contemporary art. She draws inspiration from mundane thoughts and incorporates them into her works. Her signature style features simplistic illustrations of her everyday life expressed through bright colours and bold lines.

    Recent exhibitions: SVA Gallery, Seoul (2022), Gallery HZ, Hong Kong (2021), and GANA Busan, Busan (2022).

    BEIJING, CHINA

    Liane Chu is born and raised in Hong Kong and she has been painting since the age of 2 as she embraces it as a channel for creative expression and emotional release. Her works are known for the elegant fuse between Western and Chinese art. Her works, such as the Crackle Splash series, pay homage to her heritage through Western mediums like acrylic paint. Through her paintings, we see the world from a different perspective through a radiant spectrum of colours.

  • AUSTYN TAYLOR

    MENDOCINO, USA

    Austyn Taylor is a NewYork-born sculptor pursuing a nomadic lifestyle. Currently, she is based in Mendocino as a resident at the Mendocino Art Centre. Her sculptures are inspired by hand-drawn illustrations, as well as ancient and contemporary sculptures to create works of ‘folk-pop’. Her works evoke a sense of absurdist humour and cognitive dissonance that comes from the alienating experience of existence.

    HONG KONG

    Peep is an illustrator born and raised in Hong Kong. She draws inspiration from the blissful innocence found in coming-of-age encounters that she and many others have experienced in their everyday lives. Her works are often infused with a dash of cuteness in hopes to bring joy and positive energy to the chaos amidst the world.

    Apart from Peep’s Instagram, her works are often seen across the urban and media landscape, such as K11 Musea in Hong Kong and Vogue Hong Kong.

    PARIS, FRANCE

    Sandrine Lanoy is a painter born and raised in Toulouse, southern France. Currently based in Paris, she uses portraits to study the interconnections between lines and surfaces, colours and lighting, and forms and content. She takes interest in exploring the limit between the real and the unreal as she transforms reality into paintings through colours and compositions.

    SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

    Hyun Jung Ji is a South Korean painter, and she currently resides and works in Seoul. Her works are inspired by her childhood and her memories as she uses her paintings to connect with her past self. By confronting the buried emotions in her subconscious mind, she produces art featuring multiple figures of herself, thereby evoking a sense of dream-like fantasy in her illustrations.

    LOS ANGELES, USA

    Meeson Pae (Korean-American) was born in Indiana and now resides in Los Angeles. She has dedicated her career to exploring the interconnection between the body, mythology, technology, and science through her artistic practice. Her working process involves a methodical collection of artefacts, images, and sounds for synthesis and hybrid formations. After research and experimenting with various elements, she expresses her eccentric artworks through different mediums, such as paintings, videos, and sculptures, thereby drawing connections and compressing the digital and physical, organic and synthetic, real and dream.
